Common Ground in Diversity is a 15 minutes documentary film capturing our four days of choreographic research with a group of mixable performers, researchers and musicians organized by tanzfähig and matanicola in the framework of the Creative Europe programme of the European Union “Moving Beyond Inclusion”.
We are so very honored to be part of this important project which supports the development of skills, expertise and audiences within the professional inclusive sector of disabled and non-disabled dancers. It aims to bring about a broadening of perceptions and practice within the mainstream dance world, ensuring that positive change can be sustained through the showcasing of and opening-up of discussion around the best of inclusive practice.
From September 15 to 18 2016, we will be leading a four days choreographic research organized by & with tanzfähig and other invited international guests, in the framework of the Creative Europe Project moving beyond inclusion. The research could possibly be the starting point for the creation of a new work and will give us the opportunity to enlarge our understanding, skills and questions about operating with diverse physicalities. As the research is conceptualized as an open studio, dance makers, organizers and/or others are invited to follow the process. The guests will have the opportunity to share and discuss their impressions with us, the participants and the organizers. If you are interested, please contact: email@example.comOLDER NEWS

On Sunday, June 28, 2015 we will perform “Intervention #4” at Deutsche Bank Kunsthalle in Berlin. “Intervention #4” is a continuation of matanicola’s ongoing improvisation series “versus,” which will be featured during the exhibition “Checkpoint California”. Expanding on their idea of two or more artists standing in opposition to each other, the series of events focuses on improvisation as a creative act. The goal is to allow a single happening to emerge out of each confrontation, each of which takes place in a different city or venue, and each time with a different combination of artists. The performances have a very flexible format, without any rules or long rehearsal periods, they seem as if they are occurring spontaneously. An instant composition is being created as it is being performed in front of an audience, exposing the fragility and risks taken during the creative process. The site specific performances are deeply inspired and influenced by the architecture of the performance venues; a reaction to space itself and a chance to discover and collect new choreographic material. With Nicola Mascia, Matan Zamir, Claudia De Serpa Soares and Jeff Wood Facebook event Further information about “Checkpoint California” and the exhibition program on: http://

PIECE OF ME – Israeli premiere
On December 31, 2013 and January 1, 2014, we will present PIECE OF ME at Machsan 2, the new space for dance in Jaffa port – Tel Aviv, Israel. The shows will be part of a special weekend entitled “How we do it”, curated by the choreographer and performer Yasmeen Godder.
TO THIS PURPOSE ONLY is a reflection in three chapters, a triptych of a shaken and unstable nowadays Italy in which the mute ghost of the glorious past, the clichés, the ancient rituals and traditions overlap, merge and muddle in an alienating contemporaneity. Among iconographic suggestions and typical and typified characters, the work questions, denounces and subverts the stereotyped perception of southern European cultural heritage and aesthetics. An “ad hoc” unconventional vision.
